NONCONTACT TENSION CONTROLLER

PROVIDES 0 TO 100 PSI VARIABLE AIR OUTPUT

An automatic tension control system which utilizes ultrasonics for determining unwind/rewind diameters on any type of roll including paper, film, foil, plastics, metal, screen and wire is being introduced by Waddington Electronics, Inc. of Cranston, Rhode Island.

The Sona-Trol AO-2 Tension Control System measures diameter without ever touching the material and precisely controls tension despite out of round rolls. Unaffected by dirt and variations in line voltage, it displays the roll diameter to +0.01", features end of roll or minimum diameter presets, and provides 0 to 100 psi variable air output.

Equipped with automatic and manual pressure gages and tension adjustment knobs, the Sona-Trol AO-2 Tension Control System can be supplied turnkey: including a transducer, taper tension, and line speed summing. Operating over an 11" to 30 ft. range, it replaces diameter and ratio calculators, provides diameter information at zero speed, and easily interfaces with existing controls.
