A high performance electronic DC injection brake that monitors the rotation
of any spinning AC induction motor and automatically stops it, for improved
operator safety and faster production cycle times, has been introduced by
Waddington Electronics, Inc. of Cranston, Rhode Island.
The Waddington DYNA-STOP II is an electronic DC injection brake that senses
the rotation of an AC induction motor and applies current until the motor stops
completely, regardless of load. Easy to install on virtually any rotating
equipment, it improves operator safety by eliminating spin-down and permits
faster tool changes to reduce production cycle times.
Featuring a zero speed circuit to insure that the braking current is removed
from the motor when it is stopped, the Waddington DYNA-STOP II allows for
changing the stopping time by adjusting the torque potentiometer on the brake.
Only requiring a 7-wire connection, applications include drills, lathes,
grinding wheels, punch presses, saws and related equipment.
