04-05-00

wpe48956.gif (67946 bytes)A non-contact ultrasonic loop controller that is ideal for stretchy fabrics and permits the formation of free loops with no weight on the material to assure continuous, smooth tension and rewind operations is available from Waddington Electronics, In. of Cranston, Rhode Island.

The SONA-TROL ST-6 Ultrasonic Loop Controller performs loop measurements at up to 100 times/second and measures changes in distance down to .010" without touching the material. Ideal for elasticized fabrics, the sensor can be mounted from 18" to 20 ft. above the loop and the controller can change take-up speeds if seven measurements are outside preset limits, or trip alarms, and perform other tension control and rewind functions.

Designed for external measurement control by a PLC or computer, the SONA-TROL ST-6 Ultrasonic Loop Controller’s standard features include adjustable zero offset, receiver sensitivity, and gain. An optional upper time filter prevents the measurement of items that occasionally pass in front of the material. Applications include textile screen printing.

Literature and price quotations are available upon request.
