A constant line speed calculator that eliminates loops and stops the winder/unwinder in the event of a web break is being introduced by Waddington Electronics, Inc. of Cranston, Rhode Island.
The EZ Circuit Constant Line Speed Calculator features a sonic sensor that measured roll diameter with .01" resolution and .01 second response times and a series of analog function modules. Capable of regulating both speed and tension without loops, it can operate at line speeds from 0 to 3,000 FPM or better and instantly stops the winder/unwinder in the event of a web break.
Eliminating diameter calculators, the EZ Circuit Constant Line Speed Calculator includes a DIN rail mountable summing module, load cell amplifier, frequency-to-voltage converter, and an analog divider. Easy to calibrate by screw adjustment, this simple analog system saves panel space and is ideal for small OEM applications where costly digital equipment may not be required.
