A new (patent pending) automatic wire storage controller that can be easily retrofit to existing double block and OTO machines to let them perform like newer dancer machines is being introduced by Waddington Electronics, Inc. of Cranston, Rhode Island.

The Waddington AWSC-1 Automatic Wire Storage Controller features an ultrasonic sensor to monitor the transfer sheave and provides a constant level of storage on each block. Eliminating the need for manual potentiometer adjustments, this automatic controller maximizes wire cooling and permits faster operating speeds.

Designed to easily retrofit onto double block and OTO (overhead take off) machines, the Waddington AWSC-1 Automatic Wire Storage Controller can increase their line speeds up to 20% or 5,000 FPM, depending upon wire and die configuration. An alarm relay module monitors the transfer sheave and can perform a control function.
